Today, our HR manager emailed the graduates in our company for an opportunity to work at the newly acquired MRT project (see previous post). We need to get back to him ASAP so he could arrange the transfer with our respective project managers. I still haven't replied.
Hmm...maybe if he emailed say, a few months ago when I was just sitting on my butt doing nothing and getting paid (and some more a raise) for it, I would have instantly hit the reply button and say YES, PLEASE GET ME OUTTA HERE!!!
But now, I am already busy at the Marina Bay Sands project and I've already found significance in what I am doing right now. I have daily reports to do and I have to be on top of all the activities that are happening concerning our part of the project. It's quite overwhelming sometimes. Today I was there from 7 am to 7:30 pm. The last hour is not really work related though. I was trying to hide from this person who wanted to walk with me to the MRT but I don't want to, so I hid in our office. Heeeeeheeee. I don't know how long he waited for me outside. :S It's okay when I see him tomorrow I'll just be honest and say I chickened out and I'm not comfortable walking with strangers.

So where were we?
Beauty World MRT project (cost: $340million) vs Marina Bay Sands project (cost:$120million for our part)? Well there's only one more year left for MBS, so I might just as well finish it! See, every time you finish a project, you get a project bonus. If I don't finish this MBS project, I don't get the project bonus. And...the Beauty World MRT project will only finish on 2015!! A LONG WAY TO GO. I am not sure if I can last that long. Because you see...(insert here my plans to go somewhere else).
I think the best option now is to indicate my interest for the Beauty World project but say I would also like to finish the MBS project first. That way I would get to finish at least one project. Then maybe take at least a month vacation, then dive on to the next project. Or go somewhere else. We'll see how. Hehe=)

Haha Kori, I like this post, You shouldnt have to hide in your office though, just tell him that you prefer to walk alone and leave it at that. you concentrate on this project, think of the bonus and the vacation afterwards, you can allways start another project afterwards, you need to establish yourself as a good worker and someone who finishes projects. This will allow more significant projects to come your way.
